One of the most torturous things for me that ranks with toothache is when sleepiness catches up with you on the wheel.  It starts with a yawn, and your body relaxes ever so slowly, your eyelids become heavy, there's the fighting of sleepiness by shifting positions, pinching, even slapping yourself awake, but dozing off momentarily creeps up on you.  When I realized I was fighting a losing battle while on the road, I pull in to the nearest stop, usually, its a gas station along the highway and nap - at the cost of the fuel and engine idling.

But I am thankful for a God who does not slumber nor sleep (Ps. 121:4b)  He is a watchful God.  His eyes watches over me and my family.  The fact that we are alive and well is already a testament of His keeping us safe, and his watchfulness keep me from terrible accidents when sleepiness overcomes me the next time around.

Legalizing incest ????

Nathan Larson, an independent congressional candidate for District 10 of the state of Virginia plans to make incest legal, should he be elected to the United States Congress.  In a WUSA9  TV interview, he said "I would favor legalizing incest" and when asked further, he said "just because ...personal freedom".  When asked what about the children's rights?  Would that constitute rape?  He was caught off-guard for a second and trailed off before replying "well, like with girls.... I believe it should be for fathers to make this decision".

In this day and age, everybody is thinking and doing what they believe is right, and people believe they have a right to their actions.  It is increasingly becoming a twisted world with twisted minds perverting the world until it is accepted as normal practice.  It has become a world where there is a total disregard for God and man going his own way.  And when things go south, man has the guts to question why things turned that way?

We are a rebellious bunch.  The world's pull in things, beliefs, ideology is too strong for us to stand on our own.  Fortunately, we are standing on firm foundation, anchored by the Rock of all Ages, and grounded by the Word.  God is still merciful, and He will wait for people to come to their senses and repent.  But God will not wait forever.  When His cup of wrath runs full, His swift justice and holiness will obliterate us from the face of the earth.
